Five of Florida’s finest chefs on March 27 will prepare a historic dinner at New York’s acclaimed James Beard House as part of Viva Florida 500, the celebration of 500 years of Florida history.

At around 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 28, 2011, two weary road travelers pulled into The Fish House, located on Pensacola Bay, looking for some fresh local seafood for lunch. Those travelers were none other than Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz of the History Channel's "American Pickers" national television show.

NEW YORK — Five Pensacola chefs brought tastes of Grits a Ya Ya, crab cakes and other Southern delights to the Big Apple Tuesday as they entertained a group of gourmets at the James Beard House.
